The Kansas FFA Association presented Wick Buildings with the Distinguished Service Award Thursday, May 30, at the 85th Kansas FFA Convention on the Kansas State University campus. Shawn Baer of Chapman was present to accept the award on Wick Buildings' behalf.
"Wick Buildings has been a long-term partner to Kansas State FFA and generously donated and built the new Agricultural Education Building on the State Fairgrounds," said Chelsey Smith, Kansas FFA Association secretary. "Their donation provides more space for Kansas FFA members to education thousands of visitors that attend the state fair every year."
The new building houses the grand and reserve champion animals, agricultural mechanics projects, a greenhouse and space for FFA chapters to display presentations about the agricultural industry.
"The Distinguished Service Award honors organizations, agencies, businesses or other groups who have made outstanding contributions to FFA and agricultural education," Smith said. "Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award always demonstrate what it means to give back to the organization and further the advancement of members.."
