Fifty-five years ago John F Wick built the very first Wick Building for Mel Bickford's Dairy Farm in Prairie du Sac, WI. Today, Wick Buildings celebrates the completion of its 65,000th building just 10 miles away. Another dairy, this time for Neumann Brothers Dairy Farm in Sauk City, WI and it brings Wick Buildings full circle. The building is a 102' x 268' dairy Freestall and houses the vast majority of the Neumann herd. The Neumann's plan to add to the facility in the future, but feel the new facility perfectly fits their current needs. Their plans include bringing their children into the family business. Although some of them are a little young, like 3-year-old Jacob, to make the decision now, they hope in a few years the older kids will choose to follow in their footsteps. "We really like the construction of the building," says Jeff Neumann. "The insulation and side wall curtains kept the building very comfortable in the cold weather we've had." The design of the ridge vent keeps moisture out of the 20' wide main alley. Top image is the completed building.
